Gary Kahn founded the firm in 1974 and today proudly serves as the Managing Partner.

His commitment to quality and the personalized service provided to each and every client has been fundamental to the growth of the firm.

Gary began his career at Deloitte Touche (Haskins & Sells) as a senior tax specialist followed by positions in the tax departments of public companies. In 1974 he joined the faculty at William Patterson University , at the same time establishing himself as a sole practitioner. In his nine years as a tenured professor, the accounting practice experienced significant growth.

Gary Kahn & Co (as the firm was then named) grew from a single CPA tax practice into a full service accounting firm employing both full and part-time accountants and it was time for Gary to rebalance his professional life. The firm and its clients became his primary focus and he satisfied his enthusiasm for teaching through courses for the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Building on his knowledge of accounting, in the 1980's Gary pursued accreditation in the field of business valuation and qualification as an expert witness. Gary has testified in over 200 cases wherein he was called upon to render a professional opinion concerning the valuation of closely held businesses, professional practices and various forms of marital assets such as pensions, licenses and tax shelters.
